PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT, TERMS & CONDITIONS, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNIFICATION
Event: Annual Knucklehead Spiritual Retreat September 24th - 27th 2026
By signing this Agreement, the undersigned Participant (“Participant”) agrees to the following terms and conditions in exchange for permission to attend and participate in the Event on the Host’s private Property.
1. Payment Terms

The Event fee is $40 per day or $80 for the full weekend (Thursday through Sunday).

This fee is mandatory for all attendees and covers participation in the Event, access to the Property, and includes food and beverages provided by the Host at no additional charge.

Food and beverages are free with paid participation

No person will be permitted to enter the Property, attend the Event, or participate in any activities without full payment.

Payment must be made in advance. All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Host.

Participant acknowledges that failure to pay constitutes a breach of this Agreement and may result in immediate removal from the Property.
2. Rules and Conduct
Participant agrees to:

Respect the Property, neighboring land, wildlife, and all other attendees.

Follow all instructions from the Host or designated facilitators.

Leave the Property in the same or better condition than found (leave no trace).

Not engage in illegal activities, including but not limited to the use of illegal drugs.

Not bring firearms or weapons without prior written approval from the Host.

Not damage or interfere with any structures, fences, equipment, or natural features on the Property.

Be aware that the Property is rural and undeveloped in areas; Participant must exercise caution at all times.
The Host may remove any Participant who violates these rules without refund.
3. Assumption of Risk
Participant acknowledges and understands that:

The Property is rural land with natural hazards, including but not limited to uneven terrain, slopes, woods, streams, insects (ticks, mosquitoes), wildlife, poison ivy, weather conditions (heat, rain, storms), and potential for slips, falls, or other accidents.

The Event involves spiritual retreats or group gatherings that may include outdoor activities such as walking/hiking, meditation, yoga, group exercises, campfires, or other similar activities.

Participation is voluntary and carries inherent risks of personal injury, illness, property damage, or death.

Participant freely and voluntarily assumes all risks, known and unknown, associated with being on the Property and participating in the Event.
4. Indemnification
Participant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Host, the Host’s family members, agents, and assigns from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising out of or related to:

Participant’s own actions or negligence while on the Property or participating in the Event; or

Any claim brought by Participant or on Participant’s behalf that is caused in whole or in part by Participant’s conduct.
5. Food and Beverages
Food and beverages are provided by the Host as a courtesy. Participant agrees to notify the Host in advance of any known food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions. Participant assumes all risks associated with consuming the provided food and drinks, including allergic reactions or food borne illness. The Host makes no warranties regarding the safety or suitability of any food or drink.
6. Health and Medical
Participant represents that they are in good physical and mental health and have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation. In case of emergency, Participant authorizes the Host to seek medical treatment on their behalf and agrees to be responsible for any related costs.
7. Miscellaneous

This Agreement is the entire understanding between the parties.

If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in effect.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Participant has been encouraged to seek independent legal advice before signing.
8. Acknowledgment
Participant has read this Agreement carefully, fully understands its terms, and signs it freely and voluntarily.
